MY PLACE TEEN CENTER

At MPTC, we focus on giving teens the resources and life skills needed to have a successful adult life. We offer free dinners, or lunches - depending on the time we are open that particular day, to our kids each day. We focus on building strong, trusting relationships with our teens. Our programming is based upon 5 categories: Social Emotional, Health and Wellness, Workforce Readiness, Civic Engagement, and STEAM. We offer free field trips to our kids, as long as they participate in three programs per week, which qualifies them as field trip eligible as our youth leadership academy. We are also a place for teens to just come chill out and know that this is a safe haven for them, with an absolute rule of "no tolerance" for bullying of any sort. It is a place that welcomes, and embraces, each unique teen in order to help them feel like this is home because for some, this is where they get their only meal of the day, homework help, and support they need to face the daily challenges of their lives.

Info. on Donating Time:

We ask that volunteers are at least 18 years of age and have graduated high school, where we work primarily with teens. All volunteers must complete a volunteer application, criminal background check, and DHHS background check. We are looking for volunteers who want to be here long term, and engage on a regular basis. If you are a teenager that is still in high school, and you're very passionate about wanting to help out at MPTC, we can find ways where you can still help other than being in a direct contact role. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in volunteering. Our phone number is 207-854-2800. There are many different ways you can make a difference!
